Republicans Working Against Workers

Ever-worsening is the chasm between the loaded, who luxuriate in gated communities, and the workers, who are hounded at their rickety gates by bill collectors. Even though last week’s Bureau of Labor Statistics report showed unemployment at a low 4.4 percent, wages continue to flatline, killing both opportunity and the consumer economy. Workers Want a Green Economy, Not a Dirty Environment

The Antidote for Stupidity of Shipping Tax-Dollar-Financed Jobs Overseas

Amid prolonged, painfully high unemployment, ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer for the past year tirelessly advocated a simple solution—buy American-made products. She clearly explained the reasoning: every American dollar spent on an American-made product helps create an American job. Defying Sawyer’s admonition to search for “Made in America” tags, California set a record for using government …

Time to Wield the Foreign Policy Stick

China apologizes for violating international trade regulations, then continues to violate them. America beseeches China to stop manipulating its currency, then China allows the value to increase a completely insignificant amount. America simply accepts the abuse. In his meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao this week, President Obama must announce that America is done with soft talk. Obama needs to tell Hu that America has heard enough promises; the United States is bucking up and pulling out that big stick that Teddy Roosevelt carried in foreign policy negotiations.
